The AMA LIBRARY


ABOUT US:

 

 

AMA Library is housed at AMA complex and is open to AMA Members and AMA students. For borrowing books, AMA members will have to pay a security deposit of Rs. 500/- on which a library card will be issued. The Library also provides services to MBA students on a nominal charge. AMA library is fully computerized, barcoded and now online.

 


Members may borrow four items at a time for a period of 30 days. Re-issue will be done once, if there is no claim for it. Renewals may be made in person, by telephone or e-mail by specifying the book number of the book and the membership number. Requests for renewals must be received on or before the due date. In case of delay in return of a borrowed book fine of Re. 1/- per extra day or Rs. 10/-per week will be charged. Repeated late return of books may result in denial of borrowing privileges. In case of loss of book, the borrower will have to either replace the book or pay Double the Cost of the book.

FACILITIES AT AMA LIBRARY


COLLECTION

 


AMA library has a collection of 25000 books. We have a collection of 250 magazines on various subjects and nearly 20000 indexed articles from these magazines, we are getting 16 newspapers and we maintain newspaper clippings on 250 subjects. Apart from this we have 600 CDs. We have an updated collection of trade directories on Exports, Industries, Pharma and Chemical, Plastics, Tourism, Indian economy, Banking, dictionaries etc. We have a special collection of books on WTO, International Trade, Tourism and Healthcare. Language learning facility is provided through audio cassette in the library premises.

: We subscribe to 16 newspapers, and all important news items are classified for reference into 250 different subjects.


LANGUAGE LEARNING:
Language learning facility is provided through audio cassettes. The languages included are English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Business English and Russian

 

INTERNET BROWSING FACILITY FOR MEMBERS: Internet browsing facility is available for members in the library premises @ Rs.20/- per hour. This facility is strictly for educational purpose only.


PROJECT REPORTS:
Project reports of ex-AMA students are available for reference in the library.


GoG-AMA WTO Corner: In association with Govt. of Gujarat, AMA has opened a corner specially for WTO books. Under this we have 125 books on WTO, project reports & magazines. Apart from this we have a good collection of books on international business, international trade, exports, international marketing. We also have the membership of Indian Trade Promotion council, New Delhi, WTC Mumbai, NCTI. We can access their export-Import data through internet.

 

Library Catalogue:

 

The Library stock is classified using the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) provides users with a listing of all material available in the Library. It allows searches by keywords, or through several access points like author, title, subject, and class number. In addition to identifying the availability of a book, the OPAC also indicates whether the book is presently available or issued and the expected date of return.
