Faculty Chair


FACULTY CHAIR

 

Faculty Chair is instituted with a view to strengthen AMA’s academic activities. Organisation/Individual sponsors a Faculty Chair in a particular Functional area or sector. The Faculty will be selected by AMA. He provides exclusive service to AMA to the academic activities. The Chair also will undertake an assignment or lecture for the sponsoring organization.

 

At present, AMA holds the following Faculty Chairs:

 

1. SPEC-AMA Chair for Youth Empowerment sponsored by SPEC-India.
SPEC–AMA Youth Empowerment Chair sponsored by SPEC INDIA (April 22, 2005) provided a faculty chair which enables AMA in organising training programmes on Youth Empowerment, Life Skills etc. The purpose is to provide valuable inputs in developing right attitude and behaviour, manners and etiquettes, learning habits and a total personality among the youth. The program also intends to provide necessary guidance for taking care of adjustment problems in the beginning of one’s career.

2. Zydus-Cadila-AMA Faculty Chair in Marketing sponsored by Zydus-Cadila Healthcare Ltd.
The faculty chair provides support to the Diploma in Marketing programme sponsored by the Company.



SPEC-AMA YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME


About the programme:

School or college education does not automatically form, improve or develop a student’s personality. Young people have to continuously exert and take concrete steps to acquire a balanced growth of personality along with academic education. Therefore special, concerted and sustained efforts are necessary to develop the personality of our young men and women. This programme is designed to provide an opportunity to our youth to widen their mindset and think about developing skills for various career opportunities.


Program Contents:

Self Awareness;  Developing and Achieving Life’s Vision and Goals;  Power of Self-confidence & How to get success in Life;  Positive Mental Attitude;  Inter-personal skills;  Communication skills;  Assertiveness Skills;  Using Mind Power to increase concentration & study well;  Developing Art of Human Relationship;  Sustaining Peak Performance;  Managing Time and Organized working

 

Target audience: 10 + and College students


Medium: English, Hindi & Gujarati.

GUIDANCE PLUS

Since last two years AMA has been offering the Guidance & Counselling Services to students on education and career related issues.

 

The revised activity starting from December 2007 it is named as “Guidance Plus” which covers the following:


Target Group:

(a) Students of Higher Secondary and Secondary Schools.
(b) Parents.

Objectives:


(a) To help students explore their interests, aptitude and other psychological aspects.
(b) To create career awareness through personal counselling and group activities like Career talks, career conferences, seminars and display of literature related to different careers.
(c) To help parents facilitate the growth and development of their children.
Guidance Counsellor will be available every Saturday (5.00 to 7.00 p.m.) (Appointment over phone possible)

Testing: (Optional)

The center will have psychological tests which will be administered and followed by feedback. Some of the recommended tests are

(a) Differential Aptitude Test
(b) Bhatia Interest Inventory
(c) Other tests on Habits, Personality type, EQ etc.

Fee for Testing : Rs.300/- per test. No fee is charged for counselling.
