Story Telling in the Digital Age

Objectives :
Since time immemorial stories have played an immense role in preserving & transmitting knowledge from one generation to another generation. Stories are the building blocks of knowledge, the foundation of memory and learning. Through stories we can explain how things are, why they are, and our role and purpose of life. Greatest and time-tested wisdoms are preserved in the stories of Panchtantra, Tenaliram, Vikram & Betal, Nasruddin stories etc.
In children right hemisphere is more developed than the left hemisphere. Stories generally stimulates the right hemisphere of the brain, which facilitates holistic, intuitive, emotional, abstract, visual, musical, imagery, and lateral thinking as well as dreams. Through story telling we can help children develop the faculties of right hemisphere, which is generally under tapped.
The workshop aims to help parents and teacher understand the importance of story telling and develop the skills of interactive story telling.

Methodology :
The workshop will be highly participative and will be conducted using Film Clips, Role Play, Drama and various activities to develop the skills of story telling.
